Con una magnitudo di 6.9 sulla scala Richter, questo terremoto ebbe conseguenze estese e tragiche. Il caso studio dell'Irpinia attraversa sia la fase di \u2018Mitigazione\/Adattamento\u2019 che quella di \u2018Preparazione\u2019 del Ciclo di Gestione dei Rischi, ma il progetto REPLACE indagher\u00e0 se l'Irpinia ha completamente attraversato le fasi di \u2018Risposta\u2019 e \u2018Recupero\u2019 del ciclo per tutti i membri della comunit\u00e0 e valuter\u00e0 dove le tecnologie 3D possono essere ottimizzate per rendere questi processi pi\u00f9 efficaci.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-cc3409c Il terremoto stimol\u00f2 cambiamenti sostanziali nell'approccio dell'Italia ai codici edilizi e alle strategie di preparazione ai disastri. Il terremoto dell'Irpinia del 1980 \u00e8 particolarmente significativo in quanto uno degli eventi sismici pi\u00f9 letali avvenuti in Italia. Ha messo in luce le vulnerabilit\u00e0 nelle pratiche edilizie della regione e ha evidenziato le carenze nei sistemi di risposta alle emergenze. Di conseguenza, il disastro ha stimolato avanzamenti nella ricerca sismica e nelle politiche per prepararsi al meglio e mitigare l\u2019impatto di futuri terremoti.\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-e913b8d elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"e913b8d\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Senerchia<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-38e1b74 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"38e1b74\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p class=\" translation-block\">Dopo il terremoto, il centro di Senerchia fu spostato e i resti del borgo antico sono ancora visibili come rovine ai margini del paese. Nell'estate del 2023, REPLACE ha collaborato con BRACI per una mostra intitolata \u201cRadici ed Ali: Storie, Oggetti e Persone raccontano Senerchia\u201d. Il risultato \u00e8 stata una serie di video che svelano la profonda connessione della comunit\u00e0 con il suo luogo, e i ricordi e le storie che ne derivano.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-d6ea88a elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"d6ea88a\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Conza<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-fdd9c79 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"fdd9c79\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p class=\" translation-block\">Conza presenta un interessante esempio di attivismo del patrimonio culturale guidato dalla comunit\u00e0, sotto forma di una vecchia torre dell'acqua. La torre rappresent\u00f2 una sorta di emancipazione per le donne del luogo quando fu costruita negli anni '50, portando l'acqua nelle loro case ed eliminando la necessit\u00e0 di raccoglierla dall'esterno. La torre era visibile da lontano e indicava un ritorno a casa quando le persone tornavano in paese.\n<br><br>\nSebbene gran parte del paese sia stato distrutto dal terremoto del 1980, la torre dell'acqua rimase relativamente intatta. Tuttavia la torre fu abbattuta durante un\u2019operazione di ripulitura del borgo antico, nonostante la volont\u00e0 della comunit\u00e0 locale di vederla preservata. Le generazioni post-terremoto, nate nell'immediato periodo pre- o post-terremoto, hanno vissuto spazi feriti come strani luoghi da esplorare. Non hanno ricordi di quando erano \u2018autenticamente\u2019 intatti (cio\u00e8 prima del terremoto). Ricostruire tali spazi significa distruggere i ricordi che le generazioni post-terremoto hanno di quei luoghi. REPLACE vuole evitare una soluzione che guarisca una generazione ma ferisca un'altra. Creare un'iniziativa di ricerca collettiva e inclusiva, che comprenda le prospettive dei giovani (post-) e degli anziani (pre-terremoto), le cui narrazioni hanno un\u2019inclinazione nostalgica e sono prominenti nella narrativa mediatica del terremoto, costituisce un'impresa significativa. With a magnitude of 6.9 on the Richter scale, this earthquake had far-reaching and tragic consequences. The case study of Irpinia straddles both the \u2018Mitigation\/Adaptation\u2019 stage and the \u2018Preparedness\u2019 stage of the Hazard Management Cycle, but the REPLACE project will interrogate whether Irpinia has fully gone through both the \u2018Response\u2019 and \u2018Recovery\u2019 stages of the cycle for all the stakeholders of the community and evaluate where 3D Technologies can be optimised to make these processes more impactful. Credit: ThinkSee3D The earthquake led to a staggering loss of life, causing the deaths of approximately 2,483 individuals. In addition to the fatalities, thousands of people were injured, and tens of thousands were left without homes due to the widespread destruction caused by the seismic forces. The process of rebuilding was also problematic in Irpinia, with accusations of bribery and fund mismanagement, which resulted in a much-reduced recovery spend for the communities affected by the earthquake. The aftermath of the earthquake prompted substantial changes in Italy&#8217;s approach to building codes and disaster preparedness strategies. The 1980 Irpinia earthquake holds significance as one of Italy&#8217;s most lethal seismic events. It exposed vulnerabilities in the construction practices of the region and highlighted deficiencies in emergency response systems. Consequently, the disaster spurred advancements in seismic research and policies to better prepare for and mitigate the impacts of future earthquakes. Senerchia In Senerchia after the earthquake, the centre of town was moved, and the remains of the old town are still visible as ruins on the edge of the new town. In the summer of 2023, REPLACE teamed up with BRACI for an exhibition entitled \u201cRadici ed Ali: Storie, Oggetti e Persone raccontano Senerchia\u201d\/ \u201cRoots and Wings: Stories, Objects and People tell the story of Senerchia\u201d. The result was series of films that uncover the community\u2019s deep connection to their place, and the memories and stories they have from it. Conza The town of Conza has an interesting instance of community led heritage activism, in the shape of an old water tower. The tower represented a sort of emancipation for the towns\u2019 women when it was built in the 1950s, by bringing water into their homes and stopping the need for collecting water gathered from outside. The tower was visible from far away and indicated a return to home when people returned to the town. Whilst much of the town was destroyed by the Earthquake in 1980, the water tower was relatively undamaged. Nevertheless, as part of the clean-up operation the tower was pulled down, against the wishes of the local community. At a similar time, a diorama of the town in the local museum lost its model of the water tower, lending to the local legend that the civic authority was determined to remove the water tower from the map altogether. Irpinia today These places are not only those of reconstruction, but also those of non-reconstruction, of ruins, as in the case of Senerchia relocated beside the old town. Post-earthquake generations, born in the immediate pre- or post-earthquake period, have experienced wounded spaces as uncanny places to explore. They do not hold memories on when they were \u2018authentically\u2019 intact (i.e., before the earthquake). Reconstructing such spaces means to destroy the post-earthquake\u2019s generations memories of those places. REPLACE want to avoid a solution that heals one generation yet wounds another other. Creating a collective and inclusive research initiative, encompassing the perspectives of the young (post-) and elderly generation (the pre-earthquake), who tend to lean towards a nostalgic viewpoint and are prominently featured in the media&#8217;s earthquake narrative, constitutes a significant endeavour. REPLACE\u2019s efforts aim to acknowledge the diverse range of connections people have to their surroundings, contributing to a comprehensive understanding of the many facets of place and trauma\/recovery.
